Former Vice President and African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has appointed former Minister of Transport Alhaji Yusuf Suleiman, Dan Amar Sokoto, as Deputy Director-General of the Administration Directorate of his Presidential Campaign Council ahead of the 2027 general election.
The newly unveiled campaign structure is headed by Kashim Ibrahim-Imam as Council Chairman, with former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai as Deputy Chairman, while Senator Austin Akobundu serves as Director-General and Campaign Manager.
Under the Administration Directorate headed by Suleiman, Dr Ajuji Ahmed is in charge of Administration, Abdussamad Dasuki handles Finance and Accounts, while Prof. Gold Emmanuel oversees Logistics. The arrangement is part of what the campaign describes as a lean structure based on competence, accountability and clearly defined responsibilities.
A Seasoned Technocrat
Suleiman, a member of the traditional ruling family of the Sokoto Caliphate, previously served as Nigeria’s Minister of Transport and later Minister of Sports. His professional development includes executive programmes at Harvard University’s Kennedy School, Kellogg School of Management, the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business and the Cambridge Academy of Transport, among others. ?
