VENO tv: FOREIGN NEWS YEMEN BATTLES SAUDI-BACKED FORCES AS ANSARULLAH LEADER SPEAKS …Says Yemenis Are Defending Their Land, Dignity, Freedom and Independence
Date: 17-09-26

By Kayode Adoide
The leader of Yemen’s Ansarullah movement, popularly known as the Houthis, has spoken strongly about the renewed fighting involving Houthi forces and Saudi-backed forces, declaring that his movement will continue to defend Yemen’s territory, dignity, freedom and independence.
According to the Ansarullah leader, Yemen has endured years of warfare and foreign military intervention, but its people have continued to resist despite heavy losses and destruction.
He claimed that much of northern and western Yemen remains under the control of Ansarullah forces, insisting that their struggle is one of national defence.
“We are defending our land, our dignity, our freedom and our independence,” he declared.

The Houthi leader accused Saudi-backed forces of attacks that have resulted in the deaths of Yemeni civilians, including children, and widespread destruction of infrastructure.
He further alleged that more than 2,000 mosques had been destroyed or damaged during years of conflict. This figure remains a claim by the Ansarullah side and has not been independently verified.
The leader also maintained that Houthi forces would continue responding to military operations against territories under their control.
The latest escalation has again raised serious concerns about civilian casualties, displacement and the possibility of the Yemen conflict expanding further across the region.

Yemen’s conflict intensified after the Houthis seized the capital, Sana’a, in 2014, with a Saudi-led coalition intervening militarily in 2015. Although a United Nations-brokered truce in 2022 significantly reduced large-scale fighting for a period, major hostilities have again intensified in 2026.
As both sides trade accusations and military strikes, civilians remain caught in a conflict that has already produced one of the Middle East’s gravest humanitarian crises.
