A new chapter has opened in the history of Idanre Kingdom, Ondo State, following the emergence of Prince Mayowa Aroloye as the new Owa-elect of Idanre.
According to reports, Prince Aroloye emerged victorious in the traditional selection process, defeating six other contenders for the revered royal stool.

His emergence marks a significant milestone for the ancient kingdom, which has reportedly remained without a substantive monarch for more than two years.
The development has generated excitement among sons and daughters of Idanreland, both at home and in the diaspora, as the kingdom looks forward to a new era of traditional leadership, unity and development.

Ooni of Ife Extends Royal Blessings
The Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, was also reported to have extended his congratulations and royal blessings to the Owa-elect.
The revered monarch reportedly expressed his willingness to collaborate with the incoming traditional ruler in promoting peace, cultural preservation, unity and progress among the descendants of Oduduwa.
Idanre's Historical Connection With Ile-Ife
Historically, Idanre is associated with the ancient Yoruba civilisation and traces its traditional origins to Ile-Ife, widely regarded as the ancestral cradle of the Yoruba people.
According to oral traditions, Idanre was formerly known as Ife Oke, reflecting its historical and cultural connection with Ile-Ife.
The emergence of Prince Mayowa Aroloye therefore carries cultural significance beyond Idanreland, particularly in the preservation of Yoruba royal heritage.

A New Dawn for Idanreland
As the people of Idanre await the completion of the necessary traditional and official processes, expectations remain high that the incoming monarch will promote harmony, attract development and strengthen the kingdom's cultural institutions.
For the people of Idanre, this moment represents an opportunity to renew their commitment to peace, cooperation and collective progress.

VENO TV joins well-wishers in praying that the new royal leadership will usher in enduring peace, prosperity, wisdom and development for Idanreland.
Long live the Owa of Idanre! Long live Idanreland! Long live the Yoruba race!
