Gabon military leader Gen Brice Oligui Nguema has won the presidential election in Gabon with a huge margin
The Gen. Nguema , a 2023 coup leader who ended 60 years dynasty, has won Saturday presidential election with more than 90% of di votes, provisional results show.
Ahead of the vote, critics argued that the new constitution and electoral code have been designed to give Oligui Nguema a comfortable pathway to a top job.
Some opposition heavyweights who have posed a serious political challenge have been excluded from the i race.
In election victory, consolidate in the grip on power, nearly two years after he masterminds the overthrow of President Ali Bongo, who had been in power in Gabon since 1967.
