VENO NEWS: OPINION: TRUMP: THE TARIFF MAN

Tariff is a tax paid on goods coming into or going out of a country... Every nation of the world trades with one another. Some enjoy tariff reliefs depending on countries. Basically, some amount of money is paid as import duty on goods entering a particular country. It is one of the laws of international trade. The United States being the best/largest economy on the planet Earth, attracts importations from different nations, particularly China and vice versa. The unique country and the Communist State are high-profile markets in terms of trade/business.

Precisely one month ago, Donald J Trump, the man of the moment, was comfortably elected as the president of America for the second time (not term). He narrowly lost his second term bid to the incumbent, now outgoing, Joe Biden. The then election was a fluke. Trump, the man of destiny, vowed to stage a comeback which he did in an historic fashion.

The president-elect was the 45th American president and now the 47th. Quite unusual in the history of the country. Indeed, he is a man of destiny. Nobody kills/destroys men/women of destiny. Their dreams must come to pass. Donald Trump is NOT due in office until January 20 next year but he has started making waves thereby overshadowing the incumbent. His all-round-billionaire cabinet is in shape and ready for business. When Trump sneezes, the entire world catches cold. He is known for making good on his promises and threats.

In recent weeks, the so-called convicted criminal, by default, has been threatening the US allies and foes with tariffs, the percentage ranging from 25 to 100 reminiscent of his first term in office. Canada, China and Mexico are apparently the hardest-hit. Trump wants these countries to tackle illegal immigration and drugs entering his beloved country. China's is well deserved in that the balloon nation rivals America in all fronts and is a big threat. Whoever trusts the Chinese is INSANE. But Canada and Mexico do not deserve any abnormal tariffs. Both countries are not to blame for the menace of immigration/drugs in that region of the global village.

The meeting between Trump and the Canadian PM, Justin Trudeau, at the former's expansive home was commendable. It is better to 'jaw-jaw' than to 'war-war'. No one needs to convince the tariff man to have a change of mind. Commonsense should... Mankind should be kind enough to one another.

Donald J Trump, the tariff man who does not like wearing masks but was forced to wear one when he contracted the Chinese virus before leaving office, has also threatened the BRICS nations and others with 100% tariffs for their ungodly plan to have a common currency to rival the dollar. Well deserved too! They are all a bunch of lying hypocrites and haters. Incredibly dishonest people! From Brazil to South Africa, Russia to India/China, the story is the same - hatred for America. They want a new world order in which everyone will be eating everyone, democracy and the rule of law thrown into the dustbin of history. They all will FAIL!

China dreams of swallowing up Taiwan and by force if necessary. Russia dreams of conquering Ukraine, Georgia and Moldova. The gorilla-like South African leader wants to be relevant on the international stage etc. There is no substitute for American leadership worldwide. Other aspiring nations are simply jokers and dishonest.

Not surprisingly, the tariff man is yet to single out Russia vis-a-vis the imposition of tariffs. Not far-fetched reasons! The arrogant/pompous Russian leader has been flattering him recently. "He is an intelligent and experienced politician ". Experienced politician really? Trump is a career businessman turned politician and lacks the said experience as compared to seasoned politicians. He must not be flattered. He claims to be responsible and religious. He must not allow the aggressor in Ukraine to go scot-free/unpunished.

Donald Trump does not believe in cheating. He is an advocate of fairness and justice. But he seemingly shys away from condemning the Russian atrocities in Ukraine and at the same time wants to end the unjust war in 24 hours (not Jack Bauer 24 hours). How original! If his dream is to force Ukraine to give up territory, then he must be daydreaming. Golden Rule: Do unto others as you would wish them do unto you. Again and again, Ukraine did absolutely nothing to Russia and deserves justice, the honourable thing.

The tariff man should know that power is transient and not possession, money is not everything, nothing lasts forever, death is inevitably inevitable and visits everyone and no place on the planet can remain an island of affluence in a sea of suffering. Ukraine is fighting for democracy, freedom and territorial integrity. America is safe if and only if Ukraine is liberated and safe. Donald J Trump, the tariff man, must put humanity above protectionism or America first. America first must not be America alone. No one knows tomorrow! Good luck to him in his second tenure in office. The story continues... Peace as always!
