According to the information available at Veno"s desk , the two days carnival-like burial programme commenced with a wake-keep on Thursday,at RCCC's Kings Court, Obafemi Awolowo University Campus,Ile-Ife, while the lying- in -state on Friday at the faculty of Computer and Engineering Department of the institution where a posthumous award was beckoned on the deceased.
The plaque was received by her first son, Mr.Olufokunbi ..
A sympathizer in the institution at the lying- in- state emphatically revealed that the deceased was the first person that would call and wish him a happy birthday every year.
Others lauded her for humanity and generosity while alive..
The deceased is survived by six children and grandchildren.. It was indeed a celebration of life!
According to his son, Mr.Okiki Olufokunbi, a member of the United States Military, revealed that his mother schooled in Chicago and a best student in the school
He further stated that his mother attended the University of Illinois in 1978, and when the opportunity came, she bagged a bachelor's degree in computer science and master degree in computer engineering.
In actual fact, brother Okiki says God favoured and surrounded her mother with good people despite challenges in life.
With faith and trusting in God, it took his mother 20 years to bag her PHD.
During challenges, she would not allow it to weigh her down. Instead, she would rely on her maker as her husband won't let him go. I saw that doggedness in her with a big bible until she passed away recently.
While buttressing his assertion on a bible, Scripture in Ecclesiastes 3:1-2. which says to everything, there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven, a time to be born and a time to die ..
Brother Okiki equally said that everything about her has been testimony and blessings of God.
He therefore thanked the Church, University, friends, well,-wishers, and the entire Olufokunbi's families for their unalloyed support during the burial and wishing everybody journey mercies to their various destinations.
Meanwhile, after her funeral service at RCCG Mercy Seat Sanctuary, Eruru"s qtrs, Ido-Ijesha, Ilesha, the interment took place at Banwo and Kareen family resident Adedeji Street in Ilesha, and the reception at Sambeats Arena respectively where guests were treated with sumptuous meals and there was enough to eat and drink.
