VENO tv: FROM THE PULPIT “DON’T LET YOUR ACHIEVEMENTS LIFT YOUR SHOULDERS IN PRIDE” — OMO OBA JESU DECLARES

Pastor Princess Venisa Ojo, popularly known as Omo Oba Jesu, has admonished Christians and members of the public not to allow their achievements, possessions or positions in life to make them proud or look down on others.
Speaking in this week’s edition of Sunday Tonic, the virtuous woman stressed that humility remains one of the greatest virtues anyone who desires to walk with God must possess.
According to her:
“Don’t look down on anybody because of what you have achieved or what you possess. When you begin to see yourself as being better than others because of your success, God may judge such an attitude as pride.”
She explained that true humility comes with wisdom, adding that a genuinely successful person should be able to relate freely with people irrespective of their social or financial status.
Pastor Princess Venisa Ojo recalled the example of a late prophet whose ministry was based in Warri, Delta State. Despite his prominence and achievements, the prophet was known for driving himself and humbling himself whenever he visited eateries.
“He would come down from his position, sit and eat among ordinary and less-privileged people, and sometimes pay their bills. That was humility in action. May his soul continue to rest in peace,” she said.
She warned believers not to allow success to turn them into another Nebuchadnezzar, the biblical king whose pride eventually brought him humiliation.
Achievements, she said, should produce gratitude rather than arrogance.
“Whatever you have today is by the grace and help of God. The moment you become too big to acknowledge the help of God and the contributions of people around you, pride is already eating you up.”
She therefore urged everyone to pray for the grace to overcome pride and cultivate a humble heart.
“Ask God to give you the grace to swallow your pride. Never allow wealth, position, fame, education or achievements to make you disrespect others. Remember, life itself is vanity upon vanity.”
Pastor Princess Venisa Ojo concluded by encouraging readers to remain steadfast in their relationship with God, irrespective of their level of success.
“Hold on to God. Appreciate Him for every achievement and never forget where you started from. Whatever position you occupy today, remain humble, because everything belongs to God.”
