VENO tv POLITICS | OSUN DECIDES: THE D-DAY IS HERE “AD–AC–ACN–APC: Different Names, Same Wickedness” — Osun LG Workers Declare Support for Adeleke

OSOGBO — With the Osun governorship election holding Saturday, August 15, 2026, a group of Local Government workers has urged colleagues across the state to mobilise and vote for Governor Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, warning that their jobs, salaries, pensions and welfare are at stake.
In a strongly worded campaign message titled “Our Future Is on the Ballot,” the workers appealed to their colleagues from Osogbo to Ife, Ilesa, Ila, Iwo, Ede and other parts of the state to consider what they described as the historical treatment of Local Government employees under previous administrations.
“They sacked us before. They will do it again if we are not careful,” the statement alleged.
The workers accused successive administrations associated with AD, AC, ACN and APC of policies that adversely affected Local Government employees, declaring:
“AD–AC–ACN–APC: Different names, same wickedness.”
WORKERS RECALL HALF-SALARY ERA
According to the statement, workers suffered delayed promotions, half salaries and other employment difficulties during previous administrations.
The group particularly recalled events beginning in March 2016, when Directors and Deputy Directors on Grade Levels 15 and 16 were reportedly directed to report to the Local Government Service Commission for deployment.
It alleged that hundreds of senior officers were subsequently moved into positions which some affected workers considered redundant or poorly defined.
The workers also recalled what they described as “paper promotions” without corresponding financial benefits and accused the previous APC administration of failing to adequately address outstanding salary, pension and gratuity obligations.
“ADELEKE BROUGHT HOPE”
The statement contrasted those experiences with the administration of Governor Adeleke, saying workers had experienced improved salary payments and attention to outstanding obligations since he assumed office in 2022.
It also praised the governor's relationship with organised labour, including NULGE, NUT and the Joint Negotiating Council.
The workers quoted Osun NULGE President, Comrade Dr Nathaniel Ogungbangbe, as recalling Adeleke's assurance:
“I will, because where I came from people don't suffer.”
They argued that the administration's handling of workers' welfare should be a major consideration as voters head to the polls.
“OUR FUTURE IS ON THE BALLOT”
The group said the election goes beyond partisan politics because decisions taken by the next administration could directly affect salaries, pensions, promotions and employment conditions.
It therefore called on Local Government workers to vote peacefully and participate fully in the democratic process.
“They can freeze an account, but they cannot freeze our votes. They can hijack LGs, but they cannot hijack our future,” the statement declared.
The workers concluded by urging their colleagues to support continuity under Adeleke:
“Osun LG workers, wake up. Mobilise your people. Vote for continuity. Vote for Imole. Vote Adeleke.”
The governorship election is scheduled for Saturday, August 15, 2026.
