VENO tv: Business Access Sets New Benchmark for Nigeria’s Finance Talent Pipeline
Date: 13-08-26

Lagos, Nigeria — New data from CFA Society Nigeria is reshaping the conversation around talent development in Nigeria’s financial services sector, with Access emerging as the country’s single largest source of CFA candidates.

In its Where Nigeria’s Finance Professionals Work series, CFA Society Nigeria ranked Access first among employers of CFA candidates nationwide, with 82 candidates enrolled in the CFA Programme.

The figure is more than double the 38 candidates recorded by the next-ranked institution and places Access well ahead of other banks and financial services organisations on the list.

Access also ranked second among employers of CFA charterholders, with 11 professionals who have completed all three levels of the CFA Programme and satisfied the relevant professional experience and ethics requirements.

The ranking points to an emerging form of competition within Nigeria’s financial services industry—one that goes beyond balance sheet size, branch networks and market reach to focus on the quality and professional development of talent.

According to the report, CFA Society Nigeria compiled the data from its Salesforce Membership Database as of June 2026. The initiative seeks to recognise organisations whose professionals bring rigour, integrity and global best practices into their workplaces.

Industry observers say the significance of Access's position goes beyond topping the ranking. It highlights the growing importance of developing globally credentialed professionals from within African financial institutions.

A strong pipeline of CFA candidates could also contribute to Nigeria’s wider financial ecosystem, as professionally trained investment specialists move through banking, capital markets, pension management, asset management and other areas of the economy.

Commenting on the ranking, Access Holdings Group Chief Executive Officer, Innocent C. Ike, described the achievement as part of a wider commitment to institution-building.

“Every candidate on that list represents our commitment to building institutions and professionals that endure.”

The development aligns with Access's ambition to become the World’s Most Respected African Financial Services Group.

The latest CFA figures suggest that achieving that ambition may depend not only on geographical expansion and financial strength, but also on sustained investment in the calibre, ethics and professional competence of its people.

For Nigeria’s financial sector, the message is increasingly clear: the next battle for leadership may not be determined by who has the biggest network, but by who builds the strongest pipeline of world-class financial professionals.
