VENO tv POLITICS 3 DAYS TO OSUN DECIDE: ADELEKE TO ELECTORATE — “DON’T BE AFRAID, FOLLOW YOUR VOTES FROM POLLING UNITS TO COLLATION CENTRES”

With just three days to the August 15 Osun State governorship election, the incumbent Governor and Accord Party candidate, Senator Ademola Adeleke, popularly known as “Ade Dancer,” has urged the electorate to remain vigilant, peaceful and determined to protect their votes.

Adeleke called on voters to turn out without fear and ensure that their ballots are properly counted and recorded.
“When you vote, stay and make sure your vote is counted. Follow your vote from the polling unit to the collation centres,” he said.

He stressed that voters should not be intimidated, describing participation in the electoral process as a civic responsibility.

“Don’t be afraid. It is your civic duty to ensure that your vote is counted,” the governor added.

INEC MUST DELIVER CREDIBLE POLL
Speaking on the role of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Adeleke expressed hope that the electoral body would fulfil its commitment to conduct a free, fair and credible election.

He referred to assurances attributed to INEC Chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, that the election would be conducted fairly, adding that both Nigerians and the international community would be watching the process closely.

“The whole world is watching, and INEC will be held responsible. But I believe he meant it,” Adeleke said.
“ELECTION SHOULD NOT BE DO-OR-DIE”

Adeleke also reacted to alleged threatening remarks attributed to Senator Francis Fadahunsi against Accord Party members ahead of the election.

The governor condemned any threat of political violence, insisting that an election should never become a do-or-die affair.

He called on the appropriate security agencies to investigate the alleged remarks and take necessary action where warranted.

According to Adeleke, authorities have a responsibility to protect members of all political parties and ensure that voters can exercise their franchise without intimidation or violence.

As Osun heads to the polls on Saturday, August 15, 2026, attention is now firmly on the electorate, INEC and security agencies to ensure that the governorship election is peaceful, transparent and credible.
