Nigeria’s capital city, Abuja, once again played host to an array of distinguished dignitaries as President Bola Ahmed Tinubu officially commissioned the new headquarters of the Nigeria Revenue Service—a landmark project described as a symbol of institutional reform and national progress.
The Executive Chairman of the Service,Dr. Zacch Adedeji, emphasized that the structure represents far more than a physical edifice. According to him, it reflects a long journey of discipline, resilience, and strategic reform.
“This is not just a building, but an institutional journey—one that shows the courage to take difficult decisions, not just for today, but for the future,” he stated.
Dr. Adedeji noted that the achievement was made possible through deliberate tax reforms and a commitment to long-term national value creation. He described the project as a testament to what alignment, vision, and leadership can accomplish.
The Chairman expressed deep appreciation to key stakeholders, including the Minister of Finance (currently on national assignment in Washington, D.C.), the Minister of State for Finance, and Hon. James Abiodun Faleke for his legislative guidance and support.
In a remarkable revelation, he disclosed that although the Certificate of Occupancy was yet to be formally issued, efforts were already in motion to secure it before the close of the day.
The building itself stands as a monumental achievement—a 21-storey structure with a 3,000-capacity hall, a project that began over two decades ago. Today, it emerges not only as a completed vision but also as a beacon of institutional transformation.
Dr. Adedeji also acknowledged the personal sacrifices behind the success, appreciating his wife for providing the domestic support that enabled him to focus on national assignments.
In his concluding remarks, he paid tribute to President Tinubu, describing him as a reformer with a keen eye for leadership placement:
“We celebrate a leader who understands how to put a round peg in a round hole.”
Also speaking, Ogedegbe described the commissioning as a historic moment—one that visually represents the administration’s reform-driven vision and aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda. He further highlighted the economic impact of the project, noting that over 3,000 jobs have been created, making it a legacy for generations to come.

This project stands not just as infrastructure but as a national statement of purpose—that reform, resilience, and visionary leadership can deliver lasting transformation.
