Grassroots Talent Hunt Begins as Jagunmolu Super Cup Launches in Lagos
Date: 26-03-25
Silversport Nigeria Limited, under the leadership of Kolawole Oripinye, has officially received royal approval to organize the highly anticipated Jagunmolu Super Cup, following a successful visit to His Royal Majesty, Oba Gbolahan Akanbi Timson Jagunmolu III of Shomolu Bariga.
The respected monarch, widely regarded as one of the most influential traditional rulers in Yorubaland, gave his full support and blessing for the tournament — marking a historic moment for grassroots football development in Lagos State.
A Historic First in Lagos Football
The Jagunmolu Super Cup is set to become one of the first major indigenous football competitions of its kind in Yorubaland within Lagos State, aimed at discovering and nurturing local football talents.
This landmark initiative by Silversport Nigeria Limited underscores a commitment to grassroots sports development and youth empowerment through football.
Call for Club Registration Across Lagos
Football clubs across Lagos State are hereby invited to register for participation in the tournament.
To ensure smooth organization, Lagos State has been divided into five football zones:
•Ikorodu
•Ikeja
•Epe
•Badagry
•Lagos Island
All participating clubs are expected to register under their respective zones and submit full player details as part of the registration process.
More Than a Tournament: A Pathway to Greatness

Outstanding players selected from each zone will be assembled to form a formidable team that will represent Oyo State at the upcoming Oduduwa Football Tournament.
This initiative provides a unique opportunity for talented players to showcase their skills on a bigger stage and advance their football careers.
