President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to arrive in London on Tuesday for a historic state visit to the United Kingdom, marking the first such visit by a Nigerian leader in 37 years.
The last Nigerian state visit to the UK was in May 1989, when former military president Ibrahim Babangida .
The visit is considered highly significant in diplomatic circles, as it goes beyond earlier meetings between the duo
President Tinubu and King Charles III and is expected to feature deeper state-level engagements between both countries.
According to reports, President Tinubu is expected to meet King Charles at Windsor Castle, while other top-level events have been lined up to strengthen bilateral cooperation between Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
Observers see the development as a positive step in Nigeria’s foreign relations and a signal that the country is regaining stronger visibility on the global stage.
The scheduled engagements are expected to focus on deepening cooperation at the highest diplomatic levels between both nations.
