Date: 24-02-28

The Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) Renewed Hope Ambassadors Summit 2026 held in Abuja on Tuesday, drawing top government officials, party leaders, and stakeholders from across the country.
The Vice President, Kashim Shettima, graced the summit alongside governors from APC-governed states and key members of the Federal Executive Council.
Speaking on behalf of the Federal Cabinet, the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu deliberately chose a team committed to delivering results, stressing that the administration’s achievements are already evident across key sectors.
According to him, the government is united in building on the successes recorded so far, adding that the next chapter of the administration would be more transformative. He expressed confidence that the APC would record a resounding victory in the 2027 general elections, noting that many of the promises made by the President are gradually being fulfilled.
He further stated that the administration has moved beyond the initial phase of challenges, adding that major stumbling blocks on the path of reforms have been removed. “We are correcting past destructions and consolidating on gains. Mr. President has also received global recognition for the bold reforms undertaken,” he said.
Participants at the summit were urged to take the message of the administration’s achievements to the grassroots in order to deepen public understanding of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Also present at the event was the Founder and CEO of Moniepoint, Mr. Tosin Eniolorunda, whose participation underscored the private sector’s role in Nigeria’s digital and financial inclusion drive.
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. George Akume, while delivering a keynote address, paid tribute to the late former President, Muhammadu Buhari, noting that although he is no more, his words and legacies continue to guide governance in Nigeria.
Akume outlined three major pillars guiding the current administration under the Renewed Hope Agenda:
Economic growth and stability
Food security and national security
Human capital development, with emphasis on education, healthcare, the digital economy, and innovation
He also appealed to the Progressive Governors’ Forum to establish a digital feedback board that would allow Nigerians to contribute ideas and solutions to governance, describing citizen engagement as critical to national development.
