The Government of Niger State, under the leadership of Governor Umar Mohammed Bago, has announced an immediate Christmas holiday for schools across the state following the recent abduction incident that has shaken the region.
As part of urgent security measures, the governor has ordered the closure of all vulnerable schools until further notice. This decision, according to government sources, is aimed at safeguarding the lives of students and staff while security agencies intensify efforts to rescue abducted victims and tighten surveillance across rural communities.
Governor Bago reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to securing the state, stressing that no child’s education should become a pathway to danger. Parents and guardians have been urged to remain calm as the government works closely with military and local security outfits to stabilize the affected areas.
The governor also assured residents that proactive steps are being taken to prevent further attacks, adding that education will continue once safety is fully guaranteed.
VENO tv stands with the families affected and prays for the swift return of all abducted individuals.
