VENO tv: Kanu’s Life-Imprisonment Judgment — Dr. Charles Apoki Tackles Justice Omotosho** Date: 22-11-25
By Kayode Adoide
In a blistering reaction to the recent court judgment on Nnamdi Kanu, respected public commentator and teacher, Dr. Charles Apoki, has taken a swipe at Justice Omotosho, questioning not only the ruling but the judge’s basic command of English.
Dr. Apoki, who said he listened carefully to the judge’s pronouncement, expressed shock that a man occupying such a sensitive judicial seat struggled to pronounce the simple word “stooge.”
According to him, “An ordinary primary school teacher in Igbo Elerin would read better than what I heard from the bench today.”
He lamented that the Nigerian judiciary—an arm of government meant to embody excellence, clarity, and impartiality—must not continue to present images that weaken public confidence. When pronunciation becomes a challenge for those delivering landmark judgments, he noted, it raises deeper questions about competence, preparation, and the integrity of our judicial system.
Dr. Apoki’s salvo has since sparked conversations on social media, with many Nigerians asking whether the justice system is truly being served or merely acting a script.
As the debate intensifies nationwide, VENO tv continues to follow developments closely.
