VENO TV: Entertainment Nollywood Actress Tope Osoba Dies at 40

The Nigerian entertainment industry has again been thrown into mourning following the death of popular Yoruba Nollywood actress and producer, Temitope "Tope" Osoba, who passed away at the age of 40 after a courageous battle with breast cancer.
Her death comes shortly after the industry also mourned the passing of veteran highlife musician St. Janet, deepening the grief within Nigeria's entertainment community.
Tope Osoba's passing is particularly heartbreaking because it comes barely a year after she made an emotional return to acting, having overcome breast cancer and publicly shared her inspiring journey of survival.
The actress first disclosed her health challenge after discovering a lump in her breast during a routine self-examination. She underwent surgery and appealed for financial assistance to continue her treatment. Subsequent medical examinations confirmed that the cancer had not spread, and she was declared cancer-free before returning to the movie industry in 2025.
Speaking after her recovery, Osoba described the experience as a life-changing moment.
"I'm emerging stronger, more resilient, and more passionate about sharing my story and inspiring others."
Widely admired for her performances in Yoruba movies such as Ile Owo, Omo Iya Kan, and Gucci Girls, Tope Osoba also dedicated herself to creating awareness about breast cancer and encouraging women to embrace early detection through regular self-examinations.
Her courage, resilience, and commitment to using her personal experience to inspire others will remain an enduring legacy.
