ADC presidential hopeful alleges political interference in party leadership dispute, vows to challenge court judgment.
In a statement dated November 5, 2026, and signed by Phrank Shaibu, Director of Strategic Communication of the ADC Presidential Campaign Council, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar accused his political opponents of attempting to undermine the African Democratic Congress ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
Atiku linked the disputed court judgment concerning Senator David Mark's leadership of the ADC to the party's recent campaign activities in Sokoto, alleging that the timing was politically motivated.
He maintained that his political appeal extends beyond Northern Nigeria and that his campaign would continue despite the legal dispute.
The former Vice President also questioned the relationship between the latest ruling and an earlier Federal High Court judgment in Suit No. FHC/ABJ/CS/1637/2025, announcing plans to challenge the matter at the Court of Appeal.
Atiku urged his supporters to remain peaceful and law-abiding while the campaign continues.
