VENO TV: Mr. Tax, Taiwo Oyedele Sworn in, Accepts Tough Finance Job

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has sworn in renowned tax and fiscal policy expert, Mr. Taiwo Oyedele, as Nigeria’s new Minister of State for Finance.
The swearing-in ceremony took place on Monday, March 16, 2026, at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, marking a new chapter in the country’s economic and fiscal management.
Oyedele, popularly known in policy circles as “Mr. Tax,” has accepted what he described as a very challenging national assignment, especially at a time when Nigeria is seeking economic stability, fiscal discipline, and stronger growth. According to reports, he pledged to give his very best in serving the country.
While addressing him, President Tinubu praised Oyedele as a dedicated and determined professional, urging him not to be weary even though the road ahead may be difficult. The President expressed appreciation for his willingness to serve the nation at such a critical time.
Oyedele’s appointment is being seen as a strategic move by the Tinubu administration, given his prominent role in fiscal policy and tax reform discussions in recent years. Before this appointment, Tinubu had nominated him on March 3, 2026, to replace Doris Uzoka-Anite as Minister of State for Financce
