Mrs. Kelechi Okafor is an actress, writer and public speaker living in United Kingdom has revealed that the newly opened Child Of Light Children Home And Resource Centre tends to cater for children irrespective of their background and races.

She made this known while addressing Journalists (VENO) during the ground breaking ceremony of 20 rooms of Child of Light Children’s Home and Resource Centre,

She said, “Child of Light Children’s Home and Resource Centre is the brainchild of my mother. And the Home will cater for children and women. Every child will be catered for whether he/she has a parent or not. They will be given everything required to succeed in life. The children will be sponsored to school, sheltered and become whatever they want to be.

“Nobody should be denied of whatever he/ she wants to be in life. The Resource Centre is to empowered the women by given resources needed to take care of their children themselves.”

On fundraising, the public speaker hinted that she will raise funds through colleagues, business associates and members of International community.

On the same vein, the mother of the British writer and podcaster, Mrs Mowunmi Fasanmi expressed her joy over the establishment of the Orphanage Home.

“It was a long journey to establish this children’s home. The inspiration came from God and how we have been pushing the dream, I cannot really say. This is solely for the community. We shall cater for more children as we start with 20 kids,” she said.

Meanwhile, the renowned social activist, Princess Olufemi Kayode affirmed that Child of Light Children’s Home will assist molested children as the menace is going beyond imagination in the country.

She said, “This Home will accommodate all children molested or abused by relatives and others. Some children go through exploitation, hard labour and the rest. With the children we have already, they are not enough considering the numbers of molested children in Lagos State alone. As we speak, many children are being molested in Nigeria.”

During the media chat, Jide Fasanmi commended the concept of Child of Light Orphanage Initiative for providing succour to the less privileged persons in the society.

Fasanmi later urged all meaningful Nigerians to support the humanitarian drive.
